START FOCUSED. EARN THE RIGHT TO SCALE.
One repeatable commercial contract category
Start with one team and one workflow. Adapt by region, business unit and system before expanding.
Who joins · what earns the next step
Core team: Commercial counsel + deal owner + legal operations. The sponsor agrees the outcome and reviews the decision.
Scale only when: The legal owner accepts review quality and privilege handling; comparable matters show less total effort without missed material issues.
Connected ownership: Revenue agrees the deal priority; Legal owns advice and authorised fallback positions.

MAKE THE THINKING VISIBLE
Which position can we take into the negotiation, and who can approve it?
A liability provision falls outside the approved position. The matrix links the clause, playbook rule, commercial consequence and two negotiation routes. The business receives a recommended position, named decision-maker and escalation trigger—not an unexplained red flag.
Review and acceptanceA qualified reviewer checks every material issue. The authorised person accepts residual risk and releases the advice.
Illustrative sample. Tailor the scope and thresholds before use.| Issue | Illustrative finding | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Liability cap | Outside playbook | Prepare two fallback positions |
| Payment term | Within playbook | Reviewer confirms context |
| Data clause | Specialist input needed | Escalate before release |

Does the new way improve the work?

THE EXECUTIVE TEST
What changes
because of it?
Allocate released lawyer hours to priority negotiations, new product design and commercial playbooks; track the business work enabled.
Does faster drafting just create more review work?
Count legal review and rework in the baseline and trial. Compare matters of similar complexity, check for material omissions, and only scale a workflow the legal owner accepts.
Privilege, confidentiality, jurisdiction, professional judgement and delegated authority shape the workflow. AI drafts and classifications require legal review.
THE 80/20 APPROACH
A strong starting point.
Shaped around your business.
Keep the useful structure. Adapt the priority, workflow, data, tools and success measures to your requirements.
Your commitment, our role and the investment
TIP brings: the tailored brief, facilitated build, reusable working structure and trial review. Your team brings: approved inputs, workflow expertise, an accountable owner and time to test in real work. Your organisation retains decision and release authority.
Agree the first stage before committing to the full journey. The proposal sets out fees, participant effort, trial scope and success measures. Include licences, review, upkeep and any integration in the total investment.
TEAM: 3h. ADVANCED: 4h. ACCELERATE: 2 × 4h with a workplace trial. FUNCTION: 8h + synthesis + 4h. The full journey is 27 facilitated hours, plus preparation, trial and follow-through; attendance varies by stage.
Start with approved AI tools and manual exports, with human review and named ownership. IT confirms access and data policy; sensitive or regulated workflows may need additional security, legal or governance review. Integrations, custom applications and unattended operation are separately scoped.
Inputs: matter volume by complexity, handling time, review and upkeep, adoption, external counsel spend genuinely displaced and full programme costs. Outputs: capacity and supported matter throughput; cash return only where expenditure can be removed. Do not count total deal value as Legal-generated revenue.
